Summer is finally here and I' m going for a trip to Tenerife with my boy ;) I haven't posted anything for a while now so I thought what a better post than how I pack for both ( of course), right??:)
So, I used to overpack even for a weekend trip but now I'm more organised and I pack only what I need ( at least what I think I might need:p ). I usually start packing days before my trip, in some cases even weeks:)
Outfits
First of all, I research about the weather and the places I want to visit at my destination. Then, I make a list of the places and outfits I want to wear. Then, I take all my clothes out.. Now that's usually messy but I prefer it that way so I can see what I have and what goes with what.
Then, I create day and night outfits for each day of my trip, and of course take pictures of everything. That helps me get ready in the morning and saves me a lot of time on deciding what to wear, I only have to choose what to wear depending on where we are going. Since we are going to be at the beach most of our time, I do the same with my beach wear. I go all the way down to acccesories for every outfit. To pack less clothes and not overpack, I pair the same shorts with different tops, shoes,for example, for a day outfit and a night outfit.
Of course, I have to do this for my boyfriend, even though he doesn't bother with all this process to pack. He only finds what he wants to wear and I do the packing for him, since we are sharing one luggage for this trip.
Two or three days before the trip, I do the actual packing with my checklist next to me. As you can see, our luggage has two big departments, one for each. That way, I know where everything is and everything stays neat and organised.
Make-up and other products
I only packed what I really need for this trip and didn't overpack make-up because who really needs all that make-up for holidays??
I bought these travel size shampoo, conditioner and shower gel from Primark, so that I didn't have to carry the huge TRESemme containers.
In Primark, you can also find NIVEA sun cream and NIVEA aftersun cream-Everything you need for the beach basically.
For my skincare and body care I am taking my face scrub, a face mask, moisturising day cream, night cream, body scrub, shaving gel, moisturising body lotion, deodorant, body spray and of course my perfume. All in travel size containers from Primark.
What's in my carry-on?
The hot pink carry on luggage is from Primark and it's super light-only 1,5 Kg. In that luggage, I have my shoes, underwear and beachwear-don't worry I have everything in different compartments or bags. :) Same goes for my boyfriend's luggage.
Now, in my second carry-on I have everything you see above;p My bag is not a real Louis Vuitton, it's a replica one, I only bought it online for the size-I can fit everything in there and it's not heavy. Of course, I would have my neck pillow and mask because I always sleep during the flight. I have my iPad and a book, in case I get bored. My travelling purse with all the documents I will need and my iPhone. I also have my make-up bag and another one from Primark with face wipes, deodorant, lip balm and hand cream. It's important to stay moisturised on the plane, so I have everything I need with me. Lastly, I have the pink bag organiser I got on eBay, which carries some other necessities like my socks, tissues, headphones etc
